The South African Students Congress (SASCO) mourns the passing of its 7th President Comrade Mandla Mabuza, President Mandla grew within the ranks of the congress movement. Cde Mandla was elected Deputy Provincial Chair of SASCO Mpumalanga in 1995 and was later in 1999 elected as the President leading the 9th National Executive Committee of SASCO.
President Mandla is known for his passion and love for political education and organisational development. This was illustrated by his leadership skills and involvement within the ANC HQ when he was leading its National Policy Unity and went to play a key role in Sweden.
He will be remembered for the roles which he played both within the Congress Movement and within the people’s government where amongst many duties, he served as an Acting Director General of the Department of Public Works in the period of 2011 – 2012.
As the South African Students Congress (SASCO) we dip our banner in honour of President Mandla KaMabuza who’s life is worth celebrating as a true servant of not only the movement but South Africa and the world.
Comrade Mandla Mabuza will be laid to rest on Thursday, 3 March 2022 in Witbank, Mpumalanga province.
We wish to send our deepest condolences to his Friends, Comrades and importantly to his family. We send our gratitude for having borrowed us their son to service the student movement and the Mass Democratic Movement broadly.
